Since 1980, the only Republican candidate for either President or Vice President who was a lawyer or who attended law school was Bob Dole in 1996.
1980 - Reagan/Bush Sr.
1984 - Reagan/Bush Sr.
1988 - Bush Sr./Quayle
1992 - Bush Sr./Quayle
1996 - Dole*/Kemp
2000 - Bush Jr./Cheney
2004 - Bush Jr./Cheney
2008 - McCain/Palin

I'm not sure all can actually be termed lawyers, that would mean passing the bar. All at least earned some kind of degree in law, except Gore. He attended law school for several years but took no degree.
